Lee Herdman is authentically British – born and raised in London, walking across the historic Abbey Road on his way to school. His mother is Irish and Welsh. He’s the real deal.

Lee moved to America to change careers after working as a professional soccer player and then in finance. In 2007, he bought Joe’s Pasta and Pizza in Colleyville and gradually added British fare. By 2009, the restaurant transformed into From Across the Pond.

For 15 years, Lee ran the gastropub with his wife Jodie. But by 2021, he had lost all hope and was on the brink of losing everything.

On relaunch night, customers loved the new vibe. The authenticity that Lee had been trying to create for 15 years finally came through.
