Carrie Powell faced an impossible situation – her son Keenan suffered from a rare cell disorder, asthma, and severe allergies. Their Arleta, California home was full of dust and living mold, making his conditions worse.

The Medical Challenge

Doctors told Carrie that Keenan wouldn’t live to see his first birthday. Determined not to give up, Carrie turned to her herb garden to help Keenan deal with his diseases while fighting for better living conditions.

Where Are They Now

Keenan beat all the odds. He grew into a healthy teenager – standing 6 feet tall and wearing size 15 shoes. The home makeover gave the family a clean, safe environment that supported his recovery.
